I’m an Assistant Professor at the globally renowned UCD Smurfit Graduate School of Business where I co-created the 2 MSc in Project Management programmes. I’ve been Academic Director for these since 2006. I wrote a PM textbook released in 2023 - “Project Management made easy...: the ECCSR approach”
I facilitate a regular AI discussion group with the Institute of Bankers and also sit on their AI Advisory Panel, as well as teaching a Level 7 module on their Professional Certificate in AI Fundamentals titled “Working Effectively and Responsibly with AI”.
I’m an expert in online training & teaching, and have trained all the Irish Govt Departments and many corporate, SME & non-profit clients in project management, business communications and risk management. I’m also a senior trainer working with Trigraph.
Drawing on my 20 years in multi-nationals as a global IT/Business Manager, I now advise many schools, colleges, corporates and SME’s in the use of Artificial Intelligence, and I’ve written 4 books on this subject. My consulting business is Houghton Consulting - see below…

I gained Digital badges in UDL and Facilitating UDL in 2021, and have completed 2 modules with Harvard University further exploring UDL.

I created the Plus One Podcast interviewing inspirational educators and discussing how they applied UDL into their own teaching practice
I have been a UDL Faculty Partner 2021-2-24 for University College Dublin in Ireland where I’ve been evangelising UDL to colleagues across the University
